Apprentice Data Insight Analyst (Permanent, Full Time)
Are you looking to kick-start a career in data and analytics? We’re offering an exciting opportunity to join KCOM as an Apprentice Data Insight Analyst in our Consumer Performance team. This isn’t just a job — it’s a chance to learn on the job, gain hands-on experience, and work towards a nationally recognised Level 4 Data Analyst apprenticeship qualification. Over 18–21 months, you’ll be supported every step of the way with training, coaching, and real-life projects to build your skills and confidence.
Salary
Pay for this apprenticeship will depend on your age and will meet the government’s National Minimum Wage rates.

Hull, Carr Lane, 2 days minimum office based.

Key Responsibilities
- Gather, clean, and prepare data from multiple sources to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Analyse data to identify trends, patterns, and behavioural insights.
- Create and maintain regular reports to support decision-making and monitor KPIs.
- Build and develop data visualisations to clearly communicate insights.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand their data needs and provide solutions.
- Gain proficiency in SQL, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Contribute to continuous improvement by documenting processes and ensuring the integrity of data.
- Stay up to date with the latest data analysis tools, techniques, and best practices.
Requirements
- Strong analytical thinking skills with excellent attention to detail.
- A-Level (or equivalent) in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related subject.
- GCSEs in English and Maths (A–C / 4–9) or equivalent.
- Basic knowledge of SQL and familiarity with programming (T-SQL, Python, or R desirable).
- Experience with data visualisation tools such as Tableau or Power BI (coursework or practical experience welcome).
- Good IT literacy, particularly Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- A proactive, curious mindset with a willingness to continuously learn and develop.
Your Apprenticeship
Alongside your role at KCOM, you’ll be enrolled on the Level 4 Data Analyst apprenticeship programme, which includes:
- Advanced training in data tools, statistical analysis, databases, and visualisation.
- 1:1 support from a dedicated skills coach.
- Monthly virtual training sessions tailored to your role.
