We are currently seeking an experienced EHS Manager to join a leading international contractor delivering a major hyperscale data centre project in the Newcastle area. Candidates may come from construction, engineering, industrial, manufacturing, infrastructure, pharmaceutical, energy, or mission-critical project backgrounds and should have a proven track record managing health and safety on large-scale projects. This is a key site leadership role responsible for driving Environmental, Health & Safety performance across a major construction project. The successful candidate will work closely with project delivery teams, subcontractors, and senior management to ensure the highest standards of safety, compliance, and environmental management are maintained throughout the project lifecycle. Key Responsibilities Lead all Environmental, Health & Safety activities across the project. Promote and maintain a strong safety culture across site operations. Conduct site inspections, audits, and risk assessments. Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, company standards, and client requirements. Review and approve RAMS, permits, and safety documentation. Manage incident investigations and implement corrective actions. Monitor subcontractor safety performance and compliance. Deliver safety inductions, training, and toolbox talks. Prepare EHS reports and safety performance metrics for senior management. Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the project. Requirements Degree or diploma in Health & Safety, Environmental Management, or a related discipline. 5 years' experience in an EHS management role within construction, engineering, or industrial environments. Strong knowledge of health & safety legislation and best practice. Relevant qualifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent. Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
