We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Low Voltage Installation Technician to join our client's team. This individual will be responsible for the installation, testing, and maintenance of low voltage cabling and networking equipment for commercial buildings. The ideal candidate will have experience in structured cabling, working in construction environments, and understanding industry standards and best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, terminate, and test low voltage cables, including but not limited to Cat5e, Cat6, and fiber optic cables.
- Route and secure cables and wiring according to blueprints and building codes.
- Set up and install equipment racks, patch panels, and network switches.
- Perform quality control and assurance to ensure system functionality and compliance with industry standards.
- Collaborate with construction teams, project managers, and other trades to coordinate project timelines and tasks.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to cabling installations.
- Maintain and update project documentation, including site notes and as-built drawings.
- Adhere to safety standards and protocols while on construction sites.
- Keep up to date with industry trends and new technologies related to low voltage systems.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; technical certifications (e.g., BICSI Installer) are a plus.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in low voltage cabling installations, preferably in commercial settings.
- Strong understanding of structured cabling standards (e.g., TIA/EIA).
- Proficiency in using tools such as cable testers, punch-down tools, and crimpers.
- Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints and wiring schematics.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work at heights and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

- Familiarity with fire safety regulations and electrical code compliance.
