Main Purpose of the Job
To deliver technically excellent and innovative tax advice to a diverse portfolio of clients, ensuring their tax affairs are managed efficiently and in compliance with regulations. The role involves building and nurturing strong, trusted relationships with clients to understand their needs and deliver tailored solutions. Additionally, the Tax Manager will lead a team to actively identify and pursue opportunities to enhance client offerings, contributing to the growth of the firm through new business development and client retention.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Provide expert tax advice to a diverse range of clients, ensuring their tax affairs are managed in line with current legislation and best practices.
- Oversee the preparation and review of corporation tax computations, returns, and other tax filings, ensuring accuracy and compliance with deadlines.
- Deliver tax planning initiatives to minimise tax liabilities and optimise tax efficiency.
- Guide R&D tax incentives, including identifying qualifying activities and expenditures.
- Oversee the preparation and submission of R&D claims, ensuring robust documentation and compliance with HMRC requirements.
- Stay up to date with changes in tax legislation, ensuring clients receive advice that reflects the latest rules.
- Identify opportunities to enhance client offerings and expand the company’s client base through new business opportunities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, acting as a trusted advisor and key point of contact.
- Research complex tax matters and provide recommendations to summarise findings.
- Delegate and review work effectively, ensuring high-quality deliverables and adherence to deadlines.
- Manage the department's workflow to ensure timely delivery of high-quality work and adherence to statutory deadlines.
- Share insights and updates with colleagues to support the development of the wider team.
- Assist with ad hoc tax queries and assignments.
