Our client is a well-established firm of accountants with a large and varied client base. One of their key clients is expanding and now requires a full-time, on-site bookkeeper. The work requires an experienced bookkeeper from either a firm of accountants or a commercial company. There are volume property and construction-related transactions, so experience in this field is preferred. UK Work permit and VISA required. No sponsorship available.
Requirements
- Ideally, experience in Property Management and real estate accounts
- Experience managing books for property-related transactions
- Ensure accurate financial records, timely reporting, and compliance with relevant regulations
- Maintain accurate financial records for multiple properties and entities
- Process accounts payable and receivable, including rent collection and vendor payments
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and trust accounts
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
- Track income and expenses by property or unit
- Assist with budget preparation and financial forecasting
- Prepare and submit BAS, GST, and other statutory obligations (if applicable)
- Coordinate with property managers regarding lease agreements, rent rolls, and tenant issues
- Manage petty cash, payroll processing, and employee reimbursements
- Ensure compliance with relevant real estate and financial regulations
- Liaise with external accountants and auditors
Your background should show
- Proven experience as a bookkeeper, preferably in the property or real estate sector
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks, or property-specific systems like PropertyMe, Console Cloud, or Buildium)
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Diploma or Certificate IV in Bookkeeping, Accounting, or a related field
- Experience with property trust accounting and tenant ledger management
- Understanding of lease structures and property management terms
- Familiarity with local real estate laws and compliance requirements
