At Kissoon Carr we are currently engaged with a leading international law firm (Top 20 UK Law Firm) in their search for an experienced White-Collar Crime lawyer to come and join their market-leading Global Investigations Team as a Managing Associate and contribute to the growth of the practice.
The Global Investigations team sits within the wider Dispute Resolution Department (Legal 500 award winning team). This is a cross-border and cross-disciplinary practice that advises on bribery and corruption, money laundering, fraud, economic sanctions, export controls, market abuse, and other criminal and regulatory matters. The team assists clients with investigations extending to the UK, France, Germany, Brazil, Dubai, India and offshore jurisdictions and is led by the Serious Fraud Office, National Crime Agency, HMRC and FCA among others.
The successful candidate will work closely with Partners in the Global Investigations team. The role will involve working on a mix of criminal and civil/regulatory investigations into corporates and individuals, however it is likely that you will focus more on corporate criminal investigations, defence and advisory work, including but not limited to complex bribery and corruption, money laundering and fraud.
You will bring and defend high-profile and high-value matters in both civil and criminal courts and run your own investigations with the appropriate support. You will be expected to be involved in business development activities and in the supervision and development of junior team members.
Requirements
- Stellar academic achievement with a minimum 2:1/1:1 degree.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and proven negotiation skills.
- At least 6 PQE in a top practice or obtained in-house.
- Ability to manage complex investigations for high-profile clients.
- Ability to take the lead and support complex matters.
- Ability to delegate to and supervise others effectively.
- Willing to support business development activity.
