We’re looking for a capable and motivated Management Accountant to join a leading business in Sutton Coldfield. This is a fantastic opportunity for a part-qualified/finalist accountant or an experienced finance professional looking to take ownership of a hands-on, autonomous role.

Reporting to the Finance Director, you’ll be instrumental in ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting and driving continuous improvement across the finance function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce monthly management accounts using Xero, including journals, accruals, and prepayments
  • Oversee accounts payable – invoice processing, supplier communication, and payment scheduling
  • Manage accounts receivable
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
  • Perform bank reconciliations and manage daily cash flow
  • Submit VAT returns and ensure compliance with HMRC requirements
  • Liaise with external accountants for year-end accounts and audit prep
  • Collaborate with property managers and external stakeholders on financial matters
  • Drive improvements to finance systems and internal processes

What We’re Looking For

  • Part-qualified/Finalist (ACCA/CIMA/AAT) or qualified by experience
  • Strong experience in management accounts
  • Confident with Xero or similar accounting software
  • Solid understanding of AP/AR processes
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organisational skills
  • Strong communicator with a proactive, self-sufficient approach
  • Comfortable managing VAT, reconciliations, and billing
