KC Group are partnering with a PE-backed SME business in Birmingham to recruit an experienced and commercially focused Finance Director. This is a key appointment for the business and an excellent opportunity for a high-calibre finance professional to join an ambitious organisation during an exciting phase of growth and transformation.

Working closely with the CEO and senior leadership team, the Finance Director will play a pivotal role in driving business performance, supporting strategic decision-making, and helping deliver the company’s long-term growth objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop the finance function, ensuring robust financial controls and reporting processes
  • Provide commercial and strategic support to the CEO and wider leadership team
  • Deliver insightful management information and analysis to support business performance
  • Drive budgeting, forecasting, and cashflow management processes
  • Support operational improvements and business efficiencies across the organisation
  • Manage relationships with external stakeholders including banks, auditors, and investors
  • Play a key role in future growth initiatives, acquisitions, and value creation projects
  • Prepare board-level reporting and support PE investor requirements
Candidate Profile
  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
  • Proven experience operating at Finance Director or senior financial leadership level
  • Strong SME experience within a fast-paced and evolving environment
  • Commercially astute with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
  • Hands-on approach with the ability to operate strategically and operationally
  • Previous PE-backed or investor-led experience would be highly advantageous
  • Strong leadership and team management capability
