Hours of Work: 37 Per week

Salary: £50,000 – 60,000

What you will be doing: This role is responsible for leading and coordinating all cost planning activities across the programme, ensuring alignment with programme interdependencies and maintaining oversight of emerging risks and issues. It also includes an understanding and adherence to the Authorities planning and funding cycles. Developing, managing and updating cost plans for the 20 Year Infrastructure Plan and the 1 Year Forward Works Plan. Monitoring and reporting on in-year Infrastructure Programme cost plans. Provide cost analysis and input to the strategic options.

What you will bring:

  • The ability to create cost plans and estimates by benchmarking and the use of historical site data.
  • Able to apply the principles of ‘Earned Value Management’.
  • Ensure programme structures to support ‘through life cost’ and ‘total cost of ownership’ requirements.
  • Ability to develop and maintain investment appraisals, using standard methods e.g. NPV.
  • Understanding of a gateway process with full understanding of the RIBA project stages and how these are applied with regards to cost planning.
  • Sound knowledge of the application of qualitative and quantitative risk.
  • Knowledge of the interfaces and inputs from planning team in relation to the cost plan.
  • Ability to analyse and interpret project progress cost reports and acting on any issues.
  • Maintaining effective communications with all stakeholders.
  • Reporting on programme cost at regular intervals.

About you: Previous and broad range of PMO and Programme Management cost planning experience. Knowledge of cost planning tools, SharePoint (or similar), Microsoft Office, CAFM and SAP. Experience of working in a complex operational environment with a wide variety of marine, building, civil and system assets.
