Job Title: Electrical Quality Surveyor
Location: HM Naval Base, Portsmouth (HMNBP)

Hours of Work: 37 per week, with some out of hours on a rota basis

Salary: £43,000 to £50,000
What you will be doing:
As an Electrical Quality Surveyor, you'll play a key role in ensuring electrical installation works are delivered safely, compliantly, and to the highest quality standards. Working closely with project teams, contractors, and clients, you will:
- Carry out inspections and audits of electrical installations to verify compliance with specifications, drawings, industry standards, and regulations.
- Identify, report, and track quality issues and non-conformances, supporting the implementation of corrective actions.
- Review and maintain quality documentation, including inspection records, test certificates, commissioning reports, and quality assurance logs.
- Conduct site surveillance activities and quality assessments, producing clear reports and recommendations.
- Liaise with engineers, project managers, supervisors, subcontractors, and client representatives on quality-related matters.
- Support Service Delivery handovers by ensuring all quality documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying trends, sharing lessons learned, and promoting best practice across projects.
What you will bring:
- Experience inspecting electrical installations.
- Knowledge of electrical testing and commissioning processes.
- Experience working on construction, utility, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
- Ability to interpret electrical drawings and specifications.
- Electrical installation standards and regulations.
- Inspection and testing procedures.
- Quality management systems (ISO 9001).
- Construction and commissioning processes.
- Health, Safety and Environmental requirements.
- Experience with the following is desirable:
- HV/LV distribution networks
- substation, renewable energy, or industrial projects.
- Previous quality assurance or auditing experience.
About you:
You will have the following qualifications, skills, and experience:
- An HNC/HND, NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering.
- You must have City & Guilds 2391
- Relevant electrical industry experience.
- Understanding of quality management principles.
- ISO 9001 Internal Auditor qualification is desirable
- Membership of a relevant professional institution is desirable.
- SMSTS or SSSTS certification is desirable.
