What you will be doing:

As a key member of the Project Delivery function at Portsmouth Naval Base (PNB), you will be responsible for leading the delivery of assigned projects within the Systems Programme. This high-impact systems project management role demands a proven track record in managing Building Services projects across a diverse range of buildings and operational environments. You’ll be instrumental in driving project outcomes that meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and performance, ensuring every initiative aligns with the strategic goals of KBS Maritime. Reporting directly to the KBS Systems Programme Manager, you’ll oversee the full lifecycle of systems project delivery, from initial scope and planning through to completion and handover. Whether managing trade packages or main contractor-led works, you’ll ensure each project is delivered safely, on time, and within budget. With systems projects varying in complexity and value, your leadership will be critical in maintaining operational excellence and supporting the continued success of the Project Execution team at Portsmouth Naval Base. What you will bring:

  • Hands-on Project Management experience delivering Building Services projects, ideally with exposure to end-to-end delivery of works valued under £4 million and spanning durations of 12 months or more.
  • Practical experience working in environments involving electricity or other high-risk disciplines, with a strong preference for candidates who have operated within MoD or wider public sector settings.
  • Experience with managing multi-discipline projects, and you’ll possess a working knowledge of Building Regulations, British Standards, and other relevant technical guidance.
  • Familiarity with the engineering and construction aspects of project delivery is highly beneficial, as is experience working with NEC or similar forms of contract.
  • Ideally hold a professional qualification in Engineering, Construction, or Project Management - qualifications such as APMPMQ are particularly advantageous.
  • Additional certifications, including CITB SMSTS, IOSH or NEBOSH for managers, and academic credentials such as ONC/OND or a degree in Project Management, Building, Engineering, or Architecture, will further strengthen your profile.
