What you will be doing:
As Associate Project Manager (Minor Works) you will be responsible for delivering the project programme by taking responsibility for all day to day project deliverables within your defined section of work, as part of the project execution delivery at Portsmouth Naval Base, PNB. In this role, you will be exposed to multiple project types, having to undertake reactive, fast paced deliveries as well as methodical, thoroughly planned work requiring both versatility and the ability to work with a multi-functional team. You will ensure the delivery of Minor Works Projects from concept to completion to time, cost and quality constraints whilst maintaining the highest safety standards.
The Facilities Management style projects will be either trade package or main contractor delivered works as required by the Project Execution team at PNB, of varying complexity and value. Act as point of contact for the relevant project and interact with the client, users and the KBS Maritime team. Coordinate and agree work plans with other PNB stakeholders impacted by the projects. Oversight of the technical deliverables of each project with the Design Manager to produce clear requirements which enable the procurement sub-contractor specialists. Monitor subcontract operations to ensure that work carried out is delivered to design, quality and environmental standards. Ensure that schedule and progress on milestones is regularly planned, reviewed and monitored. Be able to identify risks, assumptions, exclusions, dependencies and opportunities that are clearly defined and measurable with resolutions in place. Monitor and report progress on a structured and ad-hoc basis as well as having flexibility to de-conflict project issues with other Project Managers. Advise and liaise with project client, stakeholder and end user and the Safe to Operate team as necessary.
What you will bring:
You will have proven experience within a projects or similar environment, with the ability to work directly with the customer with Project Management supervision, instruction and mentoring. Experience within construction, trade skills, facilities management or similar environment. Experience in multi-discipline projects is an advantage. Knowledge of Building Regulations and British standards is an advantage. Knowledge of engineering construction aspects of delivering projects is an advantage.
