As a Senior HSE Advisor (Construction), you will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering KBS Maritime’s Health, Safety and Environmental strategy across our operations. You will lead on CDM, construction safety, and complex project risk management across a major £100m infrastructure and construction programme.
As a senior point of expertise, you will operate within the developing KBS Maritime HSE structure as the lead HSE oversight for complex construction projects and CDM - providing senior‑level strategic and technical HSE guidance.
Provide wider HSE support across the operational Naval Base, ensuring safe and effective integration between construction, FM, engineering, waterfront and alongside services activities.
Lead targeted HSE inspections, audits and investigations across construction and operational areas.
Review and challenge Construction Phase Plans, RAMS, design risk registers, sequencing and temporary works proposals.
Act as a key interface between construction teams, operational leads, subcontractors, BAE, MOD and Royal Navy stakeholders.
What you will bring:
- Significant experience delivering HSE leadership for complex, multi‑disciplinary construction, infrastructure or major build projects including decommissions, excavations, or demolitions.
- Strong, proven competence in CDM 2015, with experience advising Client / PD / PC roles.
- Experience working within live operational estates where construction interfaces with FM, engineering. Experience within marine/waterfront environments would be beneficial but not essential.
- Demonstrated capability managing high‑risk construction operations (temporary works, intrusive works, lifting, SIMOPS, hazardous energy control).
- Experience working across large, multi‑organisation environments.
- High‑quality track record in safety investigations, assurance, risk management and contractor performance management.
About you:
- You will have the NEBOSH Diploma, NVQ Level 5/6, NCRQ Diploma or equivalent SHE qualification (preferred).
- CDM/construction safety qualifications (e.g., Temporary Works, CDM Coordinator/PD courses) would be desirable.
- Evidence of continuous professional development in high‑hazard construction and operational safety.
