What you will be doing:
- You will assist with the Heavy lifting requirement for all lifting services within Portsmouth Naval Base.
- Managing a team of Port Operatives and Heavy Lift staff.
- Daily management of all logistical jetty support functions working closely with Lot providers.
- Organising and attending daily planning on site or ship meetings, providing detailed Heavy lift/slinging support, inclusive of lift planning and Mechanical Handling functions in line with KBS Maritime contractual obligations.
- Jetty management in keeping areas of the jetty that are applicable to the lifting/slinging operations safe and organised at all times to maximise operational ability and deliver on time.
This role includes an on-call rota and overtime to support operational demands.
What you will bring:
- Experience with leading and motivating teams.
- An extensive background and understanding of heavy lift services, mechanical handling and slinging from a managerial perspective.
- A thorough understanding of Lifting Equipment and Lifting Operation Regulations and a working knowledge of British Standards in lifting.
- An understanding of conducting safety inspections and investigations into SHE related incidents.
- A knowledge of Cranes, FAFM and Asset Management Principles.
- IOSH/NEBOSH accreditation would be an advantage, but is not essential.
