The market leader in private credit, KBRA is now inviting applications from motivated, self-starting structured finance lawyers to join its growing European business and work on securitisation and other structured finance transactions across Europe, the UK and the US. The position will be based in our London office.

About the Job: You will play an important role in the rating process, working across a wide range of securitisation and other structured finance transactions and assessing and articulating the credit impact of deal structure, documentation and other legal considerations. Key responsibilities will include:

  • Reviewing financing documents and relevant asset-level documents
  • Identifying the potential credit impact of transaction structures and deal documents
  • Coordinating with rating analysts on relevant legal issues
  • Participating in rating committees
  • Supporting the analytical team with the preparation of KBRA’s market-leading ratings and research reports

About the Team: Unique among rating agencies, the members of KBRA’s Ratings Legal team work alongside ratings analysts to identify, evaluate, and articulate key legal and credit features and risks in transaction structures. As integral members of the credit ratings groups they support, they contribute to research reports and methodology development and engage in investor outreach. Ultimately, the lawyers in Ratings Legal serve as an important safeguard for ensuring the quality, accuracy, timeliness and consistency of KBRA’s ratings.

About You: Qualified lawyer with 4-8 years post-qualification experience in securitisation and/or other structured finance. Ability to take initiative and work independently, as well as to collaborate effectively with others. Excellent communication skills. Excellent research, analytical and organizational skills. Ability to work on multiple transactions simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining standards.
