OVERVIEW
The Programme and Project Partners (PPP) model was mobilised in 2019 with the purpose of transforming major project delivery at the Sellafield nuclear site. The partnership is delivering a 20-year pipeline of major infrastructure projects to support the decommissioning of Sellafield and to create a clean and safe environment for future generations. In delivering its pipeline of large-scale infrastructure projects, PPP is creating opportunities for its people, supply chain, economy and communities.
KBR’s rapidly growing nuclear team of teams is working at the forefront of the UK’s nuclear space on some of the most exciting new-build, defence and decommissioning programmes. Location: Hybrid working with base office location of Warrington / Cumbria
Core Responsibilities and Duties
- General: Report development: Design, development and deployment of Power BI reports and dashboards tailored to client needs.
- Data integration: Connect Power BI to various organisational data sources, primarily focusing on extracting and querying data from Excel, SharePoint lists, Dataverse.
- Specific: Power Platform: Developing custom business Reports, including designing user interfaces, data models, and workflows.
- Developing custom workflows and automations using Power BI.
- Designing and developing integrations between the Power Platform and other systems, including third-party applications and databases.
- Designing and developing custom reports and dashboards using Power BI.
- Working with business stakeholders to gather requirements and understand business processes in order to design and develop solutions that meet their needs.
- Providing support and troubleshooting for custom solutions developed on the Power BI.
- Collaborating with other IT teams and stakeholders to ensure that custom solutions developed on the Power Platform align with the organization's overall technology strategy and business goals.
BI/Reporting:
- Build Power BI Dashboards/Reports/Datasets.
- Create custom SSRS/Paginated reports.
- Create relevant SSIS packages to move data to reporting databases.
- Create bespoke reporting and provide Project support.
Competencies:
- Keen eye for detail with a view to keeping errors to a minimum.
- Ability to work methodically through a potentially lengthy task.
- Ability to follow, understand and justify company procedures and ensure that all staff (including senior management) are compliant with these procedures.
- Ability to work under tight timelines and outside of regular hours if required.
- Confidence in delivering presentations to a variety of users from different backgrounds e.g. training sessions, progress updates, software demonstrations.
- Confidence in engaging with members of staff including senior management.
- Ability to write clear and concise prose in English.
- Ability to analyse a problem and identify potential solutions.
Qualifications, Experience and Skills
- Essential: Good working knowledge of the Microsoft Fabric platform, especially Power Platform (Power BI).
- Good working knowledge of common Microsoft data tooling (SQL server, Dataverse, Data Fabric).
- Good working knowledge of Excel.
- Good working knowledge of SharePoint Online.
- Desirable: Holding or working towards relevant certifications, particularly Microsoft, including PL-200 or PL-300.
- Working knowledge or experience with on-premise/legacy MS SQL server stacks including SSRS, SSIS.
- Public sector project experience.
Experience and Skills:
- Essential: Power BI proficiency: Proven experience developing complex Power BI dashboards, with competency in DAX and Power Query, and SQL.
- Data Analysis foundation: Solid grounding in data analysis principles and concepts, ability to understand and extract a narrative from data, and articulate it clearly.
- Data Engineering familiarity: Lightweight ETL, Cleaning, wrangling and preparing data for use.
- Desirable: Previous experience of UK Government security requirements.
- MS Data Factory (or similar structured database).
- Some experience of related power platform technology e.g. power automate.
