Overview

In this role you will own financial reporting, governance, and internal controls to ensure accurate, compliant financial information. You will lead the general ledger integrity and manage close processes in a complex contracting environment, reporting to leadership and coordinating with external auditors. The position supports a major corporate transformation during the spin-off from Government Solutions to Trinzic, offering scope to shape the finance function. You will work closely with cross-functional teams in a hybrid setup from Leatherhead, supporting strategic accounting initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate financial records and general ledger in line with US & UK regulatory standards
  • Manage monthly, quarterly, and year-end closes including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting
  • Lead and oversee the Chennai accounting team, providing guidance and delegation
  • Reconcile complex balance sheet accounts and resolve discrepancies promptly
  • Ensure internal reporting meets stakeholder needs (operations and corporate leadership)
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external auditors during audits and compliance engagements
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
  • Participate in cross-functional projects to enhance accounting operations and financial transparency

Key requirements

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
  • Experience in a matrix organization and contracting/project environment
  • Leadership experience with team management
  • Global collaboration capability with remote teams (Chennai)
  • Strong Excel proficiency for financial data analysis
  • Deep technical accounting knowledge and standards mastery
  • Audits liaison experience (internal and external)
  • Microsoft Dynamics hands-on experience; ERP systems such as SAP, Costpoint
  • Process improvement mindset for accounting workflows
  • Working knowledge of US GAAP and SOX compliance
  • Desirable: experience in publicly listed or US-based multinational company
