We are seeking a proactive and customer-focused IT Desktop Support Technician to join our IT team based in Tidworth. In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality desktop support services, configuring and deploying IT equipment, and ensuring employees receive timely and effective technical assistance.
Supporting both office-based and remote users, you will play a key role in maintaining a reliable and secure IT environment. This position offers the opportunity to work across a broad range of technologies, supporting end-user devices, collaboration tools, meeting room technology, and mobile solutions.
Responsibilities
- Configure, image, build, and deploy desktop and laptop equipment in accordance with KBR standards and procedures.
- Deliver, install, and maintain desktop hardware, peripherals, and associated equipment for end users.
- Provide first-line desktop support to office-based and remote employees, troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
- Support employee office moves, including workstation setup, cabling, patching, and equipment reconfiguration.
- Assist with incident management activities, ensuring issues are resolved or escalated within agreed service levels.
- Support corporate mobile devices and assist users with mobile applications and authentication solutions.
- Maintain and support meeting room technology, including audio-visual equipment and collaboration tools.
- Provide guidance and support for KBR applications, Microsoft Teams, and multi-factor authentication (MFA).
- Manage hardware lifecycle activities, including asset deployment, collection, disposal, returns, and inventory management.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with KBR IT policies, processes, and security requirements.
- Build strong working relationships with colleagues and act as a trusted source of IT support and advice.
- Adhere to Health & Safety requirements when handling equipment, working in storage areas, or travelling between sites.
What we’re looking for
- Experience providing desktop or IT support in a corporate environment.
- Good understanding of Windows 10 and Windows 11 operating systems.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and Microsoft Teams.
- Experience imaging, building, and deploying PCs using MECM, Configuration Manager, or similar tools.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to resolving issues.
- Full UK driving licence required. A company van will be provided for travel between sites.
- Experience supporting mobile devices and mobile device management solutions.
- Knowledge of IT asset management processes.
- Experience supporting meeting room and audio-visual technologies.
- Exposure to working within an ITIL-based service management environment.

Tidworth - onsite 5 days per week

Due to the nature of the projects we work on, restrictions relating to UK residency and nationality will apply. This includes having a minimum of five years' continuous residency in the UK and holding sole British nationality.
