We are looking for a Senior Project Engineer with significant Electrical Engineering experience to join our team. Ideally the candidate would have worked at a Lead or Senior Engineer level within the Electrical Engineering Discipline before moving to Project Engineering.
Key Responsibilities- Supporting the Engineering Manager in the development of project basis of design, philosophies, key studies, novel technologies and value improvement practices.
- Being familiar with the contract terms and scope of work, communicate them properly to the engineering staff, and perform all activities required of engineering, as required by the contract.
- Prepare, issue, and maintain a project design basis document. Changes to the document after issue should be considered changes to the scope of work. This will require the coordination of multi-discipline input.
- Work with the engineering disciplines to ensure readiness for project stage gate reviews.
- Advocate the KBR staged execution approach ensuring the correct sequence of working between disciplines to support project success.
- Support Project Controls in development of project schedules and resolve potential conflict between disciplines. Support the disciplines for mitigation measures where additional parallel working is required.
- Support and collate the ITT package ensuring a high level of quality through engagement of key stakeholders.
- Facilitate project workshops around lessons learnt, risk management and other discipline specific workshops.
- Keep up to date with KBR Digital solutions and initiatives and support their effective roll out on projects.
- Support the KBR Project Start up process ensuring the project works through the requirements in a timely manner.
- Committed to the success of KBR's global workshare execution methodology.
- Experience in multiple project delivery as a Project Engineer across different phases of projects FEED, Detail Design etc.
- Aspirations to develop into a Project Engineering Manager.
- Experience in developing scoping documents with multi-discipline inputs.
- Collaborates well within a team environment and demonstrates good communications skills for internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstratable flexibility and ability to adapt to changing project-related priorities and deliver high quality, accurate work within deadlines.
- Demonstrate familiarity with standard deliverables required for various phases of projects and the interdependencies between deliverables issued by various disciplines.
- Familiarity with standard procurement process, vendor coordination, stages of information flow and proper record keeping for contractual and audit trails.
- Ability to work with clients to resolve issues, including conflicting demands, sensitive situations, and conflicts with other groups.
- Experience of working with clients in lump sum environments with a focus on change management.
- Experience advising in the design of electrical systems to required specifications.
- Management of electrical interfaces between packages including GTGs and Switchgear.
- IT literate and fully conversant with Microsoft Office suite and in particular Microsoft Project.
- Significant experience in following vendor package management.
- Electrical packages like Switchgear, ENMCS, PMS, etc.
- Multi-disciplinary packages with significant Electrical scope and interface like captive generation plant packages (GTG packages, STG packages Co-generation packages), Gas turbine Compressor packages with VFD driven starter motors, Large VFD driven e-motor driven compressor packages, Prefabricated substations / e-house package supplied complete with MV / LV / switchgears / VFDs etc installed and pre commissioned.
- Integrated renewables generation like solar generation with BESS systems complete with associated controls and substations.
- Experience in UK project execution.
- Experience in Nuclear Project Execution.
- Degree in Electrical Engineering (BEng or MEng).
- Professional accreditation with registered Institution or Engineering Council or equivalent.
