About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join a major infrastructure and engineering programme supporting critical defence operations in a highly regulated environment. We are seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to provide Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) expertise, ensuring right-first-time delivery and continuous improvement across complex projects.
Location: This role is based on site in Helensburgh, Argyll & Bute. Your own transport is essential.
Security Requirements: SC Clearance. Due to the secure nature of this project, restrictions in relation to UK residency and nationality will apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Establishing and supporting project quality processes, procedures, and plans
- Reviewing technical documentation (e.g. ITPs, Quality Plans, specifications) for compliance with requirements
- Planning and undertaking on-site inspections and surveillance of supplier QA/QC activities
- Conducting internal audits, supplier audits, and quality health checks
- Monitoring quality performance against KPIs and identifying improvement areas
- Supporting product verification activities, including factory and site acceptance tests and release inspections
- Managing non-conformances, defect notifications, risks, and opportunities
- Leading root cause analysis and driving process improvement initiatives
- Coordinating Lifetime Quality Records and final documentation packs
- Liaising with third-party representatives and quality stakeholders as required
Essential Skills
- Experience in a Quality Engineering role within regulated industries (e.g. defence, nuclear, oil & gas, aerospace, pharmaceuticals).
- Strong knowledge and application of ISO 9001:2015 quality management systems.
- Proven experience delivering across multiple projects and domains.
- Strong IT skills (Microsoft Office, SharePoint)
- Excellent report writing and communication skills.
