The Role
We are seeking a proactive professional—ideally coming from a project management background—who is looking to transition away from day-to-day project delivery and into a specialist scope-writing role. This position is well-suited to a Project Manager who enjoys documentation, requirements definition, and producing clear, structured technical content, rather than managing full project lifecycles.
In this role, you will lead on the production of NEC4 contract Scope documentation. As well as authoring key sections, you will coordinate, review, and collate input from specialists across the Client team, including engineering, quality, information management, and project controls. Working within the Project Management function, the Scope Author will work closely with the Project Manager and Commercial teams to support procurement activities—from initial identification of need through to contract award. The role requires strong stakeholder management and the ability to coordinate multidisciplinary inputs, ensuring alignment with MoD governance parameters and procurement strategies. Although the primary focus will be on developing high-quality scope documentation, you will also contribute to programme development and supplier proposal reviews.
What we Need
- Experience in a related role with exposure to contract management (pre- or post-contract). Suitable backgrounds include project management, technical roles, or commercial roles.
- Experience preparing or implementing NEC4 contracts, with strong understanding of how Scope packages are constructed.
- Proven stakeholder management skills, with the ability to coordinate and align inputs across engineering, commercial, and project controls functions.
Location
The role is hybrid where 3 days per week will be spent either in the office in Glasgow City Centre or at site in Helensburgh.
Security Requirements
SC Clearance. Due to the secure nature of this project, restrictions in relation to UK residency and nationality will apply.
Belong. Connect. Grow.
At KBR, we are passionate about our people and our Zero Harm culture. These inform all that we do and are at the heart of our commitment to, and ongoing journey toward being a People First company. That commitment is central to our team’s philosophy and fosters an environment where everyone can Belong, Connect and Grow. We Deliver – Together.
KBR is an equal opportunity employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, colour, religion, disability, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, national origin, veteran status, genetic information, union status and/or beliefs, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local law.
