We are looking for an Electrical Engineer experienced in High Voltage (HV) to support the technical capability of the HMNB Clyde Design Authority (DA). This role will be suited to engineers with experience in HV Electrical Design, although candidates experienced in HV Electrical Installation or Maintenance are also welcomed.

About the Role: We are seeking a High Voltage Electrical Engineer to support critical engineering activities within a highly regulated, safety-focused environment. You will provide technical expertise across electrical infrastructure systems, helping to ensure facilities remain safe, reliable, and fit for purpose. This opportunity would suit engineers with experience in high-voltage electrical design, installation, or maintenance who enjoy solving complex engineering challenges and working on essential infrastructure programmes.

Required Experience: You should be able to demonstrate:

  • Broad electrical engineering experience, ideally including some of the following:
    • Power distribution networks
    • Diesel generators and alternator systems
    • Substations and switching arrangements
    • Protection and control schemes
    • Earthing and bonding systems
  • Experience working within the nuclear sector or another highly regulated or high-hazard industry is advantageous.
  • Ability to develop practical, innovative, and cost-effective engineering solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant British and international engineering standards.
  • Experience making evidence-based technical decisions using multiple information sources.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload and deliver to deadlines.

Qualifications: HNC or equivalent qualification and experience in a relevant engineering discipline. Detailed knowledge of electrical infrastructure design intent within the nuclear industry or a comparable regulated industry.

Location: This role is remote with occasional site visits. Your own transport is essential.

Security Requirements: SC Clearance. Due to the secure nature of this project, restrictions in relation to UK residency and nationality will apply.
