KBR supports the operational needs of U.S. armed forces at Morón Air Base in Spain and several bases in Turkey. Our services ensure smooth operations, allowing Air Force and government personnel to focus on their missions. We provide program management, civil engineering, morale, welfare, and recreation support, among other essential services.
The Incirlik Air Base Water Treatment Plant operator has the responsibility to operate, maintain, inspect, repair, and overhaul the water treatment system, groundwater wells, filtration process, reverse osmosis system, disinfection and fluoridation processes, base swimming pool, and associated equipment and system components. The candidate should be familiar with hazardous chemical work environments, including corrosive acids and toxic gases. The operator is also responsible for ensuring all facilities equipment operate in the most efficient manner possible to ensure that the facility meets safety, efficiency, quality, and environmental targets that exceed KBR and UABOS standards.
Roles and Responsibilities- Ensure compliance with all operational guidelines, standards, and regulations to guarantee that treated water entering the distribution system is safe and meets quality requirements.
- Monitor, operate, repair, and maintain plant processes and associated equipment system components to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Conduct routine inspections and operational rounds for treatment systems, water wells, main pump stations, water storage tanks, and swimming pools to verify functionality and compliance.
- Operate and monitor the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system to control and assess plant operations.
- Collect, inspect, test, and evaluate water samples to ensure compliance with regulatory limits and operational standards.
- Maintain and adjust chemical feed pumps to achieve proper chemical dosage rates, ensuring effective treatment.
- Monitor chemical dosage tank levels and perform timely refills to sustain uninterrupted operations.
- Perform preventive maintenance on plant equipment, including calibrations, basic mechanical and electrical repairs, lubrication, and replacement of worn components.
- Maintain accurate and complete records, including daily operating logs, Air Force (AF) forms, inspection checklists, chemical usage logs, and parts inventory reports.
- Support facility upkeep by performing general building and grounds maintenance, grass cutting, cargo hauling, trash removal, and contractor escort duties.
- Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively in the execution of assigned duties.
- Attend required training sessions to maintain compliance and proficiency in plant operations and safety procedures.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned to meet operational needs.
- Daily use of mechanical, electrical, and automation systems, with the ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair instrumentation malfunctions.
- Daily use of common hand tools and related equipment in a safe and correct manner.
- Daily use of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) to complete reports, tasks, and communicate with customers and co-workers.
- Responsible for the complete operation and maintenance of the water treatment plant.
- Read, write, compile, and analyze technical data and reports daily.
- Work collaboratively and respectfully with colleagues in close-quarters operational environments.
- Maintain operational readiness through regular equipment inspections, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
- Work may involve noise exposure, chemical fumes, and hazardous chemicals in liquid, vapor, or solid forms.
- Daily use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to include but not limited to chemical coveralls, full-faced mask, and SCBA when performing assigned tasks.
- Demonstrate sound judgment in safe work practices and proper equipment usage.
- Frequent entering of confined spaces (manholes, reservoirs, filters, water storage tanks) and climbing elevated structures up to 40–50 meters.
- Work on rotating shifts (days, nights, evenings), including weekends and holidays.
- Available for emergency on-call duty and overtime on a 24-hour basis.
- Maintain punctuality and a reliable level of attendance.
- Work with minimal supervision while meeting performance expectations.

- Possess a valid Class B driver’s license.
- English Level I
- High school diploma
- 2- or 4-year degree in Electrical, Control and Automation, Industrial Automation, Mechanical Trade, or a related technical field.
- English level II
- Experience working in industrial systems maintenance, including water pumps, electric and diesel-driven motors, mechanical systems, motorized and pneumatic valves, chemical dosing systems, control panels, and automation systems.
- Experience in the maintenance, repair, and operation of mechanical and electrical pumping systems and related machinery within a municipal water or wastewater treatment plant environment.
- PLC/SCADA programming and instrumentation experience, or equivalent control systems certification.
- All positions require the applicant to obtain and pass a medical physical that is certified by a doctor, to include a vision test including color recognition and a respirator fit test.
- All positions require a current and favorable Turkish Security background check.
- All male candidates must have completed their military service.
