OVERVIEW

The Programme and Project Partners (PPP) model was mobilised in 2019 with the purpose of transforming major project delivery at the Sellafield nuclear site. The partnership brings together KBR, Amentum, Morgan Sindall Infrastructure, Altrad and Sellafield Ltd to deliver a 20-year pipeline of major infrastructure projects to support the decommissioning of Sellafield and to create a clean and safe environment for future generations.

In delivering its pipeline of large-scale infrastructure projects, PPP is creating opportunities for its people, supply chain, economy and communities. KBR's rapidly growing nuclear team of teams is working at the forefront of the UK's nuclear space on some of the most exciting new-build, defence and decommissioning programmes. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS

  • Qualifications - Educational: Essential: Degree or equivalent. Desirable: Institute of Asset Management Certificate/Diploma, BSI BIM Asset Information Professional.
  • Experience and Skills: Essential: Strong expertise in configuration management principles and tools, including implementation and governance of asset configuration baselines. Proven experience delivering complex technology or asset management projects as a Delivery Lead or Asset Management SME. Deep knowledge of asset management frameworks (e.g. ISO 55000 & IAM 10-Box Capability Model) and their application in highly regulated environments. Hands-on experience with AVEVA AIM and/or Esri ArcGIS Enterprise / Utility Network Model, including integration into enterprise environments. Strong stakeholder management skills across engineering, IT, and operations teams. Desirable: Experience working within Sellafield or similar nuclear environments. Knowledge of digital engineering, information management (BIM & ISO19650) and asset lifecycle integration. Familiarity with systems integration patterns and enterprise architecture frameworks. Experience with data governance, master data management, and information standards. Exposure to modern digital project delivery practices (Agile, DevOps). Experience supporting operational readiness, testing, and transition to service. Understanding of GIS systems and spatial data management within asset-heavy organisations.

PROJECT BACKGROUND

The job holder will act as the delivery lead/Asset Management SME for the Technology Enablement (TE) function which is part of the Nuclear Solutions Group (NSG) within Sellafield. TE are responsible to scope and deliver a portfolio of technology projects, enabling Sellafield to achieve their mission faster, safer and cheaper. The job holder will specifically be the lead for the strategic initiative to integrate Sellafield's configuration baseline, acting as the delivery lead and AM SME for the adoption of configuration management capabilities. This includes leveraging tools such as AVEVA AIM and the Esri Utility Network Model. The objective is to establish a robust, governed asset configuration baseline that supports safe, efficient, and optimised asset lifecycle management in a highly regulated nuclear environment.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Act as the strategic lead to help Sellafield integrate their configuration management tools to increase productivity.
  • Support the PM in overseeing the delivery of 2 in-flight configuration management projects, including AVEVA AIM and Esri Utility Network Model implementations.
  • Ensure integration of configuration management tools with existing/future enterprise asset management systems and asset data environments within SL.
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, and IT stakeholders to align asset information requirements and applicable data standards.
  • Drive adoption of asset management best practices and standards across the organisation.
  • Manage delivery risks, dependencies, and reporting within a complex, regulated environment.
  • Provide subject matter expertise in configuration and asset information management.
  • Oversee documentation, design artefacts, and compliance with organisational standards.
  • Desirable: Support development of requirements & testing strategies including Non-Functional Testing and User Acceptance Testing.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of delivery practices and toolsets.
  • Provide mentoring and guidance to wider project team members.
  • Support integration with wider digital engineering and information management initiatives.
