About the Role
As a Maritime Signatures specialist, you’ll contribute to a diverse portfolio of exciting and technically challenging projects. You’ll deliver high‑value technical insight and strategic guidance to clients across the defence sector. Working alongside multi‑disciplinary teams and in close partnership with other stakeholders, you’ll help shape projects that play a direct and vital role in supporting the UK’s defence.
Key Areas of Expertise
- Acoustic and Non‑Acoustic Signatures
- Sonar Modelling and Data Processing
- Ocean Physics and Oceanographic Data Analysis
- Knowledge and Understanding of the Underwater Battlespace Signature
- Aspects of Maritime Platform Engineering for Crewed and Uncrewed Assets
Responsibilities
- Deliver high‑quality engineering analysis, modelling, design support, and operational advice.
- Engage with clients across industry and government.
- Deploy excellent communication and report writing skills to make an impact.
- Contribute to bids, proposals, and strategic consultancy work.
- Work as part of diverse, technically capable project teams.
- Support development of junior engineers and promote best practice.
- Help shape technical solutions that improve safety, reliability, and performance.
Essential Requirements
- Degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related STEM field.
- Experience in maritime signatures for the defence industry.
- Highly developed problem‑solving abilities coupled with effective communication skills.
- Ability to manage tasks and collaborate across teams.
- Excellent communication and report writing skills.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Eligibility for UK security clearance (SC or DV).
Desirable Requirements
- Progress toward chartership or already chartered.

Due to the nature of the work that Frazer‑Nash Consultancy undertake, candidates will be required to undergo pre‑employment screening and must be able to satisfy clearance criteria for UK National Security Vetting.
