Technical Staffing Resources (TSR) are the in-house agency and master vendor for KBR, a leading global engineering, construction, and services company. KBR supports the hydrocarbon and government services markets on six continents, offering challenging assignments on some of the world's largest and most complex projects.

We are looking to recruit a Lead Mechanical Engineer for a 12-month contract, based in Leatherhead, Surrey.

Role Overview:

The role of a lead mechanical engineer is highly valued within KBR and involves extensive interface with the client, project management, suppliers, corporate management, and the global team of mechanical engineers employed throughout KBR’s worldwide offices. The lead will manage a group of engineers on a project, planning, budgeting, organising, and controlling an important segment of a very extensive and highly diversified engineering project. They will be responsible for a measurable asset such as an assigned staff and man-hour budget.

Responsibilities:

  • The required competency and skills would typically have been built up working for a consultant engineering company or end user company.
  • Demonstrable, recent and successful experience of leading mechanical teams for large scale onshore projects with a project portfolio ranging from FEED to Detailed Design.
  • Specialist and detailed knowledge of the major mechanical equipment types, including static, machinery, and packaged equipment.
  • Working knowledge of major industry standards for oil and gas equipment.
  • Provide essential technical leadership to our clients and project teams, managing deadlines, schedules, and resources.
  • Job success will depend on interpersonal skills and effective interaction with others.
  • Competent using Microsoft Office.
  • Lead on an Aramco FEED project.
  • Leadership of project delivery across multiple work centres.
