KBR is a global provider of differentiated, professional services and technologies delivered across a wide government, defense and industrial base. KBR is looking for a Lead Pipelines Engineer to work in our Leatherhead office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Pipeline Design: Design of pipeline systems, including determining route optimization, alignment, and wall thickness. Ensure all designs meet current industry standards and safety regulations while optimizing functionality and efficiency.
- Installation Strategy Development: Plan and develop strategies for pipeline installation. Consider environmental factors such as land usage, topography and installation methodologies.
- Project Leadership: Manage pipeline projects, setting project objectives, timelines, and resources. Monitor progress to ensure that deliverables meet set targets, including deadlines, budget constraints, and quality expectations.
- Technical Expertise: Provide technical support and leadership throughout the project lifecycle, collaborating with other engineers to address design challenges and ensure optimal execution of pipeline systems.
- Risk Mitigation: Identify potential risks associated with pipeline projects, including environmental or operational hazards. Perform risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies.
- Quality Assurance: Define and implement quality control measures for pipeline projects. Oversee regular audits and inspections to ensure all deliverables adhere to project specifications, industry standards, and safety regulations.
- Vendor and Contractor Relations: Work closely with equipment suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors, ensuring that selected vendors meet project standards.
- Reporting and Documentation: Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for both internal stakeholders and external clients, highlighting project progress, technical challenges, and proposed solutions.
- Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Stay informed of new developments in pipeline engineering, including emerging technologies and changes in regulations.
- Team and Business Development: Committed to professional development of the wider Piping team. Assist with resourcing and recruitment of Pipeline Engineers.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Civil, or a related Engineering field.
- Extensive experience in pipeline design, installation, and maintenance.
- Deep knowledge of industry codes and standards relevant to pipeline systems.
- Extensive knowledge of Pipeline mapping using Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
- Proficiency with design software and tools, such as AutoCAD and pipeline analysis tools.
- Strong knowledge of pipeline installation techniques.
- Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage large and small-scale engineering projects.
- Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration.
