Salary: £45,000–£65,000

Location: Bristol, Glasgow, or Leatherhead preferred (others considered)

What you’ll do

  • You’ll help clients navigate complex and emerging technologies, using structured systems thinking to guide decisions and shape strategy.
  • You’ll oversee and support work such as feasibility studies, options assessments and investment recommendations.
  • Applying systems engineering approaches to technical challenges.
  • Horizon scanning, technology maturity assessments and research.
  • Technology road mapping and innovation strategy.
  • Managing research and innovation programmes.
  • Recent projects include:
    • Exploring space-based solar power for Net Zero 2050
    • Assessing the potential and deployment of future quantum technologies and networks
    • Exploring the impacts of novel technologies on defence and national security
    • Technology maturity and road mapping for civilian and defence hypersonic flight
    • Developing concept designs for future generation remote autonomous systems
    • Leading multidisciplinary projects in novel energy generation and distribution
    • Assessing the impact of space weather events on the UK electricity network
    • Delivery of innovation projects for network operators across the GB energy system, within the context of the energy trilemma: Reliability, Affordability, and Sustainability.

What we’re looking for

  • Background in engineering, science, maths or a related technical/analytical field.
  • Experience in energy, renewables, transport, defence or technology consultancy.
  • Solid strategic thinking and problem‑solving skills.
  • Interest in emerging technology and systems engineering.
  • Clear communicator, comfortable working with clients and multidisciplinary teams.

Due to the nature of the work that Frazer‑Nash Consultancy undertake, candidates will be required to undergo pre‑employment screening and must be able to satisfy clearance criteria for UK National Security Vetting.
