Frazer-Nash delivers innovative engineering solutions across the nuclear industry’s lifecycle. We seek an Electrical Nuclear Safety Engineer to support existing and new nuclear projects, including civil, defence, non‑reactor, experimental and demonstrator facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and undertake project work for clients on significant nuclear safety and assurance tasks.
  • Supervise staff engaged in electrical safety activities.
  • Apply industry knowledge to assess and justify electrical engineering problems and produce safety justifications.
  • Oversee and manage projects, develop and maintain client relationships, and secure new work.
  • Support and coach junior colleagues’ development.
  • Develop strategies to solve complex electrical power system and C&I challenges for nuclear facilities.
  • Execute technical tasks such as engineering design, modification assessment, hazard analysis, design basis analysis, probabilistic analysis, safety functional requirements and regulatory compliance.
  • Conduct periodic reviews of nuclear facility safety and substantiate systems against safety requirements.
  • Act as architect engineer for complex nuclear projects.
  • Develop and support safety cases for nuclear and non‑nuclear plants.
  • Author, review and verify safety‑related documents.
Essential Requirements
  • Demonstrable 5+ years of civil or defence nuclear infrastructure experience with electrical and C&I engineering problems.
  • Degree, Master’s or PhD in a relevant STEM discipline.
  • Well‑developed organisational skills and proven experience leading technical teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Adaptability and ability to manage own workload.
  • Appetite for continual learning, improvement and self‑stretch.
  • Willingness to travel and spend time on client sites.
Desirable Requirements
  • Experience in highly regulated and/or high hazard industries.
  • Technical oversight, leadership, and independent review experience.
  • Project management and commercial aspects experience.
  • Technical consultancy experience.
  • Chartered status with a professional institution.

Candidates will be required to undergo pre‑employment screening and must satisfy clearance criteria for UK National Security Vetting.
