The Associate Project Manager works alongside and assists the Project Manager in planning, executing, and closing projects. Responsibilities include coordinating various project activities, monitoring progress, and ensuring that the project stays on track. The role involves supporting the Project Team with internal process compliance, including progress and status reporting of all functional and business requirements specific to the programme. Interaction with clients is a key component.
Responsibilities
- Familiarise with the Programme, contractual, and scope‑of‑works responsibilities.
- Integrate with resources, teams and stakeholders, understanding their responsibilities, requirements and scope delivery ownerships.
- Process and expedite relevant documents within SharePoint.
- Assist with the preparation of weekly and monthly dashboard reports and metrics.
- Document actions, record and produce Minutes of Meetings.
- Inform the project team on performance, issues and risks.
- Produce Resource Induction Packs, manage and track inductions, and continuously improve induction documents and processes.
- Own and track security requirements.
- Ensure compliance with internal commission management processes, including:
- Document Control
- Threat and Opportunity (risk) registers
- SharePoint structures and access
- Action logs and schedules
- Maintain accuracy of Resource Trackers.
- Complete ad‑hoc tasks from the Programme Lead or PMO Lead to meet deadlines.
- Keep a register of Zero Harm Shares, Safety Shares and Wellbeing Shares.
- Ensure effective governance and maturity assessments are implemented, maintained and appropriately managed; assist with executive board assurance reports and engage with wider programme and project reporting processes.
Experience Required
Experience in project coordination or related roles. Confident and proactive, with strong problem‑solving skills, initiative to drive projects forward, strong interpersonal skills, effective communication with clients and stakeholders, strong time‑management skills, ability to prioritize tasks, and adaptable under changing priorities and pressure.
Qualifications / Certifications
Membership of a relevant professional body, or actively working towards achieving this.
Location
Reading/Bristol/Plymouth – hybrid working with a mix of office‑based and remote working.
Security Requirements
SC Clearance. Due to the secure nature of this project, restrictions in relation to UK residency and nationality will apply.
