The Role
You will integrate into the fabrication department and play a key role in ensuring welding apprentices receive high-quality training and mentoring, aligned with the company's in-house training programme. You will be working with a team of 9 fabrication apprentices enrolled on a 4-year training programme, supporting them from early development through to qualification.
Key Responsibilities
- Training apprentices in a range of welding processes, including MMA, TIG, FCAW, MIG, Sub Arc Welding a variety of materials, including Carbon steel, Stainless steel, Aluminium, Duplex, Cunifer
- Tack welding of fit‑ups
- Welding across various material grades and positions
- Promoting and maintaining safe lifting and handling practices
- Providing coaching, mentoring, and ongoing feedback to apprentices
- Liaising with managers to ensure the in-house training programme meets required skill levels
- Providing regular apprentice performance feedback to line managers
