The QHSE Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the company's Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental management systems within a fabrication and manufacturing environment. The role ensures compliance with industry standards, customer requirements, and legal regulations while promoting a culture of continuous improvement, safety awareness, and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Quality Management
    • Develop and maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) in line with ISO 9001 standards.
    • Ensure fabrication processes comply with customer specifications, drawings, welding procedures, and quality requirements.
    • Conduct internal audits, inspections, and quality assessments.
    • Manage non-conformance reports (NCRs), corrective actions, and preventive actions.
    • Monitor fabrication quality performance and identify improvement opportunities.
    • Coordinate third-party inspections and customer audits.
  • Health & Safety
    • Implement and monitor health and safety policies in compliance with local legislation and company standards.
    • Conduct risk assessments, toolbox talks, safety training, and accident investigations.
    • Ensure safe working practices in welding, cutting, lifting, painting, and fabrication activities.
    • Monitor PPE compliance and workplace safety standards.
    • Lead emergency preparedness and response activities.
  • Environmental Management
    • Maintain compliance with environmental regulations and ISO 14001 standards.
    • Monitor waste management, emissions, hazardous materials handling, and environmental performance.
    • Promote sustainable practices and environmental awareness across the organization.
  • Compliance & Documentation
    • Maintain QHSE records, procedures, manuals, and reports.
    • Ensure compliance with client requirements, fabrication codes, and statutory regulations.
    • Prepare monthly QHSE reports and KPI analysis for management review.
    • Liaise with regulatory authorities, auditors, and certification bodies.
  • Leadership & Training
    • Lead and mentor QHSE officers and site personnel.
    • Deliver QHSE inductions and ongoing employee training programs.
    • Promote a proactive safety and quality culture throughout the organization.
    • Support continuous improvement initiatives across fabrication operations.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5-10 years of QHSE experience in fabrication, manufacturing, steel structure, or industrial environments.
  • Strong knowledge of fabrication processes, welding inspections, and industrial safety standards.
  • Certified Internal Auditor for ISO 9001 / ISO 14001 / ISO 45001 preferred.
  • NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent safety certification is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with welding standards, quality control procedures, and risk management.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Knowledge of fabrication quality standards and HSE regulations.
  • Ability to conduct audits, inspections, and incident investigations.
  • Strong report writing and documentation skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and QHSE management systems.
  • Experience in a fabrication workshop and construction/site environment.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • May require occasional travel to project sites and client locations.
