QC Inspector Location: Portlethen, Aberdeenshire Salary: £18–£21 per hour (36 hours per week) Contract: Permanent, Full-Time Are you an experienced Quality Control Inspector with a background in oil and gas manufacturing? This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading engineering organisation where you’ll play a key role in ensuring product quality, compliance, and safety. The Role As a QC Inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring that all products and processes meet the required standards across the manufacturing and supply chain. This includes conducting inspections, reviewing technical documentation, and liaising with both internal teams and external stakeholders. You’ll be instrumental in upholding quality assurance procedures and ensuring compliance with industry standards. Key Responsibilities: * Carry out visual and dimensional inspections of machined and rental fleet items, covering first-off, in-process, and final inspections. * Perform non-destructive testing (NDT), drift testing, and calibration of measuring equipment. * Review and record inspection data, ensuring accurate documentation and reporting. * Undertake lifting equipment visual examinations and re-certifications. * Raise and manage non-conformance reports, controlling non-conforming products. * Participate in audits, HSE initiatives, and special projects as required. * Liaise with third-party inspectors and coordinate with internal teams to resolve quality issues. * Witness pressure tests and produce inspection reports in line with customer and quality plan requirements. About You We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented individual with strong technical and organisational skills. You’ll have a background in oil and gas manufacturing and a solid understanding of inspection techniques and quality assurance processes. Essential Skills & Experience: * Knowledge of oil & gas manufacturing and related products. * Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. * SNT-TC-1A vision test (or equivalent). Desirable Skills & Qualifications: * HNC/HND in a relevant engineering discipline. * Experience with ISO9001, API Q1 standards. * NDT qualifications (dye penetrant and/or magnetic particle inspection to Level II). * Knowledge of ERP/Quality Management Systems (ideally Microsoft AX). * Familiarity with international quality codes and standards. * Formal auditing qualification. * Full UK driving licence. Personal Qualities: * Strong communication and interpersonal skills. * Professional and commercially aware. * Highly organised with excellent attention to detail. * Motivated, hardworking, and able to prioritise effectively. * Willingness to travel when required.
