KBM are currently recruiting for Platers and Semi-Skilled Operatives for a well-established structural steel fabrication workshop based in Perth. These are ongoing opportunities with an initial duration of 12 weeks, with the potential for longer-term work.

Plater Duties:

  • Fabrication and assembly of structural steel components
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
  • Marking out, fitting and preparing steelwork
  • Working to quality and safety standards

Semi-Skilled Operative Duties:

  • Operating bandsaws and cutting equipment
  • Forklift driving and material handling
  • Moving steel throughout the workshop
  • Assisting fabrication teams as required

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a heavy engineering, fabrication or structural steel environment
  • Ability to work safely and effectively within a workshop setting
  • Forklift licence advantageous for Semi-Skilled roles
  • Reliable with a strong work ethic
