We have an exciting opportunity available to join a Spaceport as their Head of Engineering. With offices based in North Aberdeen, working patterns can be flexible. The role would be a great fit for someone with a wide background in Engineering, facilities management and construction regulations to help build teams, processes and procedures. This is a truly unique opportunity for someone to embrace ambitious projects in the space industry as you will be working with a company that is the UK's first vertical launch spaceport. You will be overseeing launch and support site engineering duties whilst playing an important role in spaceflight operations. This is a key role to keep the UK's first fully licensed vertical spaceport safe and help move towards the future of UK space flight.
Responsibilities
- Oversee Engineering capabilities across launch and support sites.
- Develop and manage a Computerised Maintenance Management System.
- Give Engineering advice to clients and colleagues.
- Maintain a site risk register and investigate incidents.
- Work closely with the Operations Manager and deputise when required.
- Develop the engineering team.
- Identify future capability gaps.
- Ensure operational reliability and oversee integration of systems.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and legislation.
Required
- Vastly experienced in engineering systems and CMMS.
- Strong understanding of CDM regulations 2015.
- Experience in regulated environments where safety is crucial.
- Strong organisation, communication and leadership skills.
- Incorporated Engineer status or working towards it (or equivalent).
