Subsea Test & Assembly Technician
Brechin, Angus. Permanent. Competitive (DOE).
KBM are working with a well‑established engineering Co who deliver specialist services to the offshore energy, subsea and renewables sectors.
Due to continued growth and a strong order book, they are looking to recruit an experienced Subsea Test & Assembly Technician to join their expanding team in Brechin.
This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a modern engineering facility where you’ll work on a wide variety of high‑profile subsea equipment, supporting projects from assembly and refurbishment through to testing, commissioning and client acceptance.
The Role
Working within the Test & Assembly department, you will be responsible for assembling, testing and maintaining complex subsea and offshore equipment to the highest quality and safety standards.
- Mechanical assembly and disassembly of subsea equipment and associated systems
- Function testing, pressure testing and hydraulic testing of offshore tooling and equipment
- Inspection, fault finding and repair of mechanical and hydraulic components
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, procedures and technical documentation
- Recording test data and completing inspection documentation accurately
- Supporting FAT, SIT and client witness testing where required
- Ensuring all work is carried out safely and in accordance with company procedures and industry standards
- Working collaboratively with engineering, workshop and project teams to deliver projects on time
About You
We’re keen to speak with candidates who have
- Experience in a Test & Assembly, Mechanical Technician or Subsea Technician role
- Previous experience within the subsea, offshore oil & gas, marine or renewables sectors
- Good mechanical and hydraulic assembly skills
- Experience carrying out function testing and pressure testing is highly desirable
- Ability to read engineering drawings and technical documentation
- Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail
- A proactive approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
