A leading engineering and manufacturing organisation operating within advanced subsea technology is seeking a Senior QC Technician to join its growing quality team. This business delivers highly specialised connectivity solutions designed for some of the most demanding underwater environments globally. The Senior QC Technician will play a critical role in ensuring product quality and compliance across all stages of production. The position combines advanced inspection and testing responsibilities with mentoring, process improvement, and quality oversight. Working closely with production and engineering teams, the successful candidate will support the delivery of high-integrity products while driving continuous improvement and maintaining adherence to recognised quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct inspections throughout production to ensure compliance with technical drawings, specifications, and work instructions
- Perform advanced electrical and mechanical testing, including high-voltage (AC/DC), signal testing, and pressure testing
- Verify completed components meet required quality standards prior to release
- Manage and support Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), including investigation and resolution
- Contribute to root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions
- Monitor adherence to Standard Operating Procedures and support continuous improvement initiatives
- Assist with internal, client, and external audits (including ISO standards)
- Support alignment between quality control, testing functions, and production targets
- Mentor and guide junior technicians, supporting skills development and competency frameworks
- Promote and maintain high standards of health, safety, and environmental compliance
- Drive LEAN practices and 5S methodologies across the work environment
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in a Quality Control role within a manufacturing or engineering environment
- Strong background in electrical testing, including high-voltage and signal testing methods
- Experience with pressure or environmental testing processes is highly advantageous
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
- Familiarity with Quality Management Systems and NCR processes
- Audit experience (internal or external) preferred
- Working knowledge of QHSE standards and best practices
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to produce clear technical reports
- Experience mentoring or supporting junior team members
