A great opportunity for a Hydraulics Project/ Design Engineer is now available with a reputable Oil and Gas company based in Aberdeen.
You will have responsibility for the successful delivery of allocated hydraulic projects or a defined hydraulic scope of work from design and draughting.
You will be supporting the full hydraulic work scope through its entire project life cycle whilst providing a high level of technical guidance on all hydraulic engineering related matters.
Responsibilities
- Ensure project documentation and associated work instructions are developed and defined in line with procedures.
- Cost management of the hydraulic budgets.
- Design new hydraulic systems and electro-hydraulic equipment.
- Implement and project manage hydraulic upgrades.
- Deliver solutions to problems.
- Work closely with the overall Engineering Team, Hydraulic workshop personnel & offshore teams displaying strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Liaise with hydraulic sub-contractors and suppliers.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and identify inefficiencies and cost optimisation opportunities.
- Create and implement best practice directives, policies, and processes to improve operational and financial performance.
Experience/ Qualification/ Skills
- Degree in a relevant subject discipline.
- Able to read, generate and interpret hydraulic schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Abel to use CAD software.
- Hold previous design experience and knowledge of open and closed loop hydraulic systems.
- Able to specify hydraulic and elctro-hydraulic components, valves, hoses and pipework sizing to suit design applications such as winches, tensioners, hydraulic power units, cranes and back deck equipment.
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations.
