We are looking for an experienced Akamai WAF / CDN Security Engineer to support Digital Edge and Cyber Security platforms within a banking environment. The role focuses on securing and optimizing web infrastructure through Akamai CDN, WAF, Bot Management, SSL/TLS, Edge Load Balancing, and traffic routing technologies. The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in networking, cybersecurity, edge computing, web application security, and cloud-based infrastructure, along with hands-on experience managing Akamai edge configurations in enterprise environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and support Akamai CDN and Edge Security platforms for banking web applications.
- Perform WAF, Security, and Bot Manager traffic inspections to identify threats and vulnerabilities.
- Configure and maintain SSL certificates and TLS encryption for secure communications.
- Implement Edge Load Balancing for high availability and optimized application delivery.
- Configure path-based routing and traffic steering solutions.
- Implement and manage caching and edge storage solutions.
- Create and maintain custom error/sorry pages within NetStorage environments.
- Configure and validate HTTP methods based on application requirements while ensuring security compliance.
- Monitor, alert, and troubleshoot security threats, system errors, and performance issues.
- Support production and pre-production incident management and resolution.
- Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to reduce attack surfaces and improve platform availability.
- Provide technical debugging support across Akamai edge and downstream infrastructure.
- Analyze SIEM logs, threat intelligence, and traffic reports to identify anomalies and attacks.
- Maintain secure proxy and reverse proxy configurations for ingress/egress traffic management.
