Key Responsibilities
- Define and deliver strategic and tactical architectural thinking across enterprise data, MRDM, and governance.
- Work within the Enterprise Data Architecture Framework to benchmark against leading practices and standards.
- Partner with business and IT leaders to contribute to the overarching Enterprise Data Strategy.
- Own and develop architectural artefacts, models (logical, physical, semantic), frameworks, and blueprints.
- Promote architectural best practices and technology education across the organization.
- Lead architectural governance processes, including forums, councils, and assurance boards.
Operations-Aligned Responsibilities
- Design and manage Information Architecture (IA) models: conceptual, logical, operational, master, and metadata.
- Drive IA blueprint alignment across IT projects affecting Operational Business Capabilities.
- Ensure standardization, governance, and compliance in all IA designs.
- Collaborate with the Operations Data Office on data governance integration and KPI reporting.
- Define architecture for BI/reporting, analytics, data science, digital, and operational use cases.
- Lead data integration architecture strategy and provide approval for IA artefacts during project lifecycles.
Required Skills and Experience
- Essential
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Data Management, or related field.
- Proven experience delivering enterprise data platform architectures with tangible business outcomes.
- Strong knowledge of conceptual and logical data modelling techniques and tools.
- Experience in data/information regulatory governance frameworks and compliance.
- Skilled in architectural methodologies, such as FAIR data principles, TOGAF, or Data Mesh.
- In-depth understanding of data lifecycles, metadata, data quality, and classification principles.
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Desirable
- Experience designing data engineering or architecture blueprints implemented in production.
- Familiarity with enterprise metadata cataloging, EA tools, and data modelling platforms.
- Knowledge of containerization strategies in hybrid cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Agile delivery experience, particularly within data definition or architecture scrums.
- Experience operating in matrix organizations with diverse stakeholder groups.
- Background in the Pharmaceutical industry or other highly regulated environments.
