The Role
We are seeking an experienced Paraplanner to act as the personal paraplanner to Sarah (CEO & Financial Planner). This is a trusted, high-responsibility role supporting all aspects of Sarah’s client work and enabling her to focus on advice delivery and leadership.
You will be embedded in Sarah’s client workflow, taking ownership of paraplanning activity, client correspondence and technical preparation. The role requires discretion, excellent organisation and confidence working autonomously with complex cases.
Key Responsibilities
- Personal Paraplanning Support
- Provide dedicated paraplanning support exclusively to Sarah and her clients.
- Prepare and maintain financial plans for clients with complex needs, including business owners and company directors.
- Draft detailed and compliant suitability reports, tax reports and financial planning documentation.
- Conduct technical research across pensions, investments, protection and estate planning.
- Client Communication
- Manage and draft client email correspondence on behalf of Sarah.
- Ensure communications are clear, accurate, professional and aligned with KBA’s values.
- Support the ongoing client relationship through proactive, organised engagement.
- Systems & Technical Tools
- Use Intelligent Office (IO) as the core CRM to manage client records, workflows and compliance.
- Support cashflow forecasting and long-term planning modelling.
- Use systems including Voyant, FE Analytics and PensionLab as part of the advice process.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure all work meets regulatory and internal standards.
- Organisation & Workflow Management
- Act as a key organisational support to a busy CEO/Financial Planner.
- Confidently manage diaries, emails and tasks using Office 365.
- Prioritise workload effectively in a fast-paced, high-trust environment.
- Ensure all client work is delivered accurately and on time.
- Development & Culture
- Support trainee financial planners by sharing examples of client work and best practice.
- Act as a role model for professionalism, attention to detail and client care.
- Embody KBA’s values of Integrity, Energy, Commitment and Courage in day-to-day work.
About You
- Proven experience in an experienced paraplanner role within a financial planning firm.
- Strong experience supporting complex client cases, including business owners and directors.
- Extensive experience drafting financial plans, tax reports and suitability reports.
- Highly organised, proactive and comfortable working autonomously.
- Confident using a PC and common office software (e.g. Microsoft Office/Teams), with strong IT literacy and the ability to quickly learn new systems.
- Discreet, professional and comfortable working in close partnership with a senior leader.
- Experience with cashflow forecasting tools.
- Familiarity with Voyant, FE Analytics and PensionLab.
