K&B Panels Limited — Liverpool
About Us K&B Panels is a fast-growing Liverpool-based interiors brand.
We design and manufacture decorative EPS 3D wall panels, sold across the UK and US through Amazon, Shopify, B&Q, The Range, Robert Dyas and Walmart, with a growing footprint in Italy and Ireland.
Manufacturing runs out of our own factory in Tuzla, Istanbul.
We're a business with real revenue moving across four currencies and half a dozen sales channels, but no one has owned the finance function properly yet.
That's this role.
The Role This isn't a compliance job.
We're not looking for someone to file numbers after the fact, we're looking for someone who owns the money as it moves, catches what's wrong before it costs us, and makes decisions daily rather than reporting on them monthly.
You'll own every invoice that comes into this business before it gets paid, own when and how it gets paid, and own the cash position across GBP, USD, EUR and TRY well enough to know exactly where we stand on any given day without having to ask.
This role needs regular in-office time given the daily nature of payment decisions, exact split to be agreed but expect the majority of the week in-office rather than remote.
Reports to: Jake Bond, CEO.
This role is built to run with real autonomy, not tight oversight, weekly check-ins on numbers and decisions, not daily sign-off on routine work.
- What You'll Own
- Every invoice, reviewed before it's paid.
Supplier, freight and operational invoices (Gemini Freight, Netlog Logistics, Lake City Logistics, our aluminium and adhesive suppliers, agency retainers) checked against agreed rates and contracts, discrepancies caught and challenged before money moves, not after
- The payment run itself.
You decide the cadence, not us.
Timing payments across four currencies to protect cash flow, taking early-payment discounts where they exist, holding terms where that's the smarter call
- Daily and weekly reconciliation across our Wise accounts (GBP/USD), Payoneer (Walmart), and marketplace settlements (Amazon, Shopify, B&Q, Robert Dyas), so our cash position is always current, not discovered a week late
- Finishing the UK P&L model, which currently has real gaps: profile trim costs, the Turkey revenue transfer mechanism, and current assets capture
- A live, maintained cash flow forecast across all four currencies, including our current loan repayment schedule
- Reviewing and protecting the intercompany pricing between K&B UK and our Turkey manufacturing side, so margin doesn't quietly erode
- VAT returns, and over time, statutory accounts and Corporation Tax submissions as trust and track record build
- Sanity-checking financial terms on new commercial agreements before they're signed, commission structures, buy-sell pricing, payment terms
- Personal tax structuring input for the founders, salary versus dividends, where a genuinely qualified perspective saves real money
Where this role stops: courier claims and shipping-related invoice disputes tied to customer orders stay with our Ops & Customer Experience Manager, who already owns that relationship.
This role's invoice scrutiny is supplier, freight and vendor-side, not customer-shipping-side.
The two shouldn't overlap.
- Who We're Looking For
- Fully qualified ACCA or ACA (not part-qualified, not a finalist)
- 3+ years post-qualification experience, ideally with at least one role where you ran finance inside a business rather than just reviewing it from practice
- Genuine multi-currency or cross-border trading experience, e-commerce background a strong plus
- Genuinely comfortable owning a P&L and making payment decisions, not just producing reports on one
- Confident enough to push back on a supplier, query a charge, or hold a payment when something doesn't add up, rather than processing what lands in the inbox
- SME background preferred. You'll get more done here in month one than in a year at a business with a finance team already built around you
Pay Salary is dependent on experience and qualification level, competitive for the right person.
Tell us what you're looking for.
Reviewed at 12 months against what the role has actually found and saved.
Trial Period Three-month probation with a formal review.
