Our firm holds a family legal aid contract and continues to expand its family law offering.
Kayani Legal is seeking an experienced Family Law Solicitor for a Consultant / Fee Share role, with off-site working preferred, although office attendance in Ilford may be required as needed. The successful candidate must be capable of handling family legal aid matters independently from instruction through to conclusion, and importantly, billing. The role will involve advising and representing clients in family law matters, including children matters, divorce, financial remedy, injunctions and other privately and publicly funded family work where applicable. The candidate must be confident managing their own caseload, preparing legal documents, maintaining client care standards, and dealing with Legal Aid Agency requirements, including billing.
Key Requirements
- Minimum 3 years’ recent experience as a Family Law Solicitor in legal aid practice
- Ability to manage family legal aid files independently with minimal supervision
- Experience with Legal Aid Agency billing and CCMS
- Strong working knowledge of family law procedure and case management
- Qualified Solicitor of England and Wales with a current practising certificate
- Excellent drafting, communication and client care skills
- Ability to work efficiently, professionally and autonomously
- Experience in children matters, injunction applications and urgent family work
- Bilingual ability, particularly in Urdu or Hindi, would be an advantage, but is not essential
- Previous experience working with a busy London-based firm is beneficial
