Here at GXO, we are currently recruiting for a facilities Technician to join our team in Sherburn in Elmet, supporting our growing site. You will monitor and evidence compliance for Health and Safety, including completion of logging for the fire alarm and emergency lighting upkeep while maintaining the highest standards of hygiene, maintenance, repair and health and safety.

This is a full time, permanent position, predominantly working Monday to Friday, with start & finish times flexible.

We are looking to offer a salary of £32,000 per annum + £2000 on-call and 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays). What You’ll Do On a Typical Day

  • To monitor and record compliance testing for safety and site critical functions, including fire alarm systems, emergency lighting and legionella checks.
  • To facilitate planned and reactive maintenance and repairs as required on site, monitoring contractors to ensure all required safety and site processes are adhered to.
  • To carry out minor non-technical repairs, inspections, and remedial works across site and/or arranging for contractors to attend to site for more complex repairs.
  • Monitor and perform non-technical maintenance of plumbing systems, to include standard repair of leaking fixtures, cleaning obstructed waste lines, or performing non-technical modifications to plumbing and water supply systems.

  • Work unsupervised and take responsibility when needed to support the network.
  • Level 2 Diploma/18th Edition Wiring/IOSH/Refrigeration.
  • Proactive approach to tasks and problems.
