Overview
Kavaliro is seeking a Welding Engineer to support a client onsite in Mt. Pleasant, PA.
Responsibilities
- Developing Welding Techniques: Creating and improving welding techniques, procedures, and the application of welding equipment to solve fabrication problems involving metals.
- Troubleshooting Issues: Identifying and resolving welding-related issues to maintain the efficiency and safety of welding processes for in-shop and field service activities.
- Oversee the welding continuity program: Ensure welders are current when dispatched to field service projects.
- Support training and education on matters of weld quality and processes.
- Capture and drive quality events (QIS/CAPA) and lessons learned to successful resolution, garnering organizational support and ownership as part of the process. Use proven quality tools to drive improvements. May include customer feedback.
- Perform welding audits and assessments as necessary to identify compliance and improvement opportunities at internal/external supplier and internal processes.
- Coordinate with internal business groups (Complex Project PMs, engineering, etc.) and provide welding inputs for contract reviews, bidding, and project plans as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.), preferably in an Engineering, Material Science, or related field.
- 7+ years of combined experience in one or more of the following – manufacturing, field service, Quality Assurance.
- Professional knowledge and direct experience related to standards ISO 9001, ASME, NBIC, AWS or equivalent standards.
- Understanding of materials, both American and European, and thermal processing requirements.
- Solid communication skills and the ability to develop good working relationships with internal business partners.
