We are currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Welder/Fabricator to join a busy workshop in the Manchester area. This role involves working on Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGVs), carrying out fabrication and welding repairs, modifications, and builds. The position is primarily focused on MIG welding within a fast-paced, professional environment.
Key Duties
- MIG welding on HGVs, trailers, and commercial vehicles
- Fabrication, repair, and modification of HGV components
- TIG and Arc welding (advantageous)
- Working with stainless steel, carbon steel, and alloys
- Oxy/acetylene and plasma cutting
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
- Operating JIB and overhead cranes
- Ensuring all work meets safety and quality standards
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience as a Welder/Fabricator (HGV or commercial vehicle experience preferred)
- Strong MIG welding skills
- Ability to read technical drawings
- Experience in a workshop or manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of HGV structures, bodies, or trailers (desirable)
- Crane and lifting experience (preferred)
