We have an exciting opportunity for a Midweight Packaging Designer to join our talented Product Design team, working across our beautiful Joma Jewellery brand. This role sits at the heart of our product journey, supporting the creation of thoughtful, innovative and commercially successful packaging that enhances our luxury and personalisation offering.
Our Product Design teamâs mission is to deliver beautifully designed products and packaging that are on brand and represent our affordable luxury offering. Working closely with Buying, Product, Print and our wider creative teams, you will support in bringing ideas to life from initial concept through to final delivery, ensuring every detail meets our brand standards and customer expectations. Collaboration, creativity and attention to detail are at the core of everything we do, as we continuously evolve our ranges and personalisation offering to delight our customers.
As our Midweight Packaging Designer, youâll make an impact by driving creative development, executing design briefs, producing artwork and technical specifications, and ensuring end-to-end delivery of packaging, tags, POS and personalisation. Youâll proactively manage your own projects, contribute innovative ideas, and ensure all designs are delivered on time, to budget and to the highest standard.

The role is Monday - Friday 9am-5pm. Youâll enjoy the exciting buzz of our friendly office in Banbury, Oxfordshire three times a week on average with the flexibility to work from home for the remaining two days. This may increase to 5 days a week during peak periods.

How Youâll Contribute- Support and drive the brand forward through thoughtful, innovative packaging design that enhances our affordable luxury positioning.
- Execute briefs from Senior Designers, creating on-brand packaging concepts that are visually compelling and technically sound.
- Provide support in developing technical specifications and artwork for packaging, tags, POS displays, testing and personalisation.
- Collaborate closely with Product Designers to ensure cohesion between product and packaging.
- Check work thoroughly, ensuring attention to detail and organisational standards are met.
- Monitor and manage sample checks against specifications with Senior Designers.
- Create mock-ups and nets when needed to test packaging prototypes.
- Suggest process improvements and proactively help manage design workflows.
- Work closely with the Print team to maximise personalisation offerings.
- Maintain ownership of Range Plans across Joma/ALC and Personalisation, updating decks for key meetings and liaising with buying and product teams.
- Use Adobe Creative Suite to produce artwork and technical specifications.
- Stay aware of competitors and regularly share insights with Senior Designers.
- Communicate with Senior Designers to understand product development strategy and support timely delivery.
- Report daily/weekly on the status and progress of live projects.
- Innovate new personalisation offerings and share ideas with Senior Designers.
- Support Design/Buying teams where product knowledge is beneficial.
- Any other ad hoc duties reasonably requested by the Company.
- A design qualification, preferably in fashion, graphic or product design, with a passion for fashion and lifestyle products.
- Experience in product/packaging design, ideally within jewellery, fashion or accessories, with proven ability to deliver designs from concept to final product.
- Strong visual communication skills and high proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Excellent attention to detail in both written and numerical tasks.
- Proven ability to work to processes and deliver high-quality products within deadlines.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and maintaining confidentiality.
- Able to work proactively within a team and autonomously when required.
- Positive, 'can do' attitude and excellent team working skills.
- Experience working independently under general instructions on design projects.
