We are excited to welcome a Design Assistant to our Product Design team at Joma Jewellery! Our Design team takes care in creating pieces that celebrate every little moment, delighting our customers with meaningful, personalised jewellery that captures their most special memories. You’ll make an impact by using your excellent organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail to complete creative administrative tasks to support our wonderfully talented Designers across product and packaging.
You will help bring ideas to life from concept to creation through taking ownership for integral tasks such as creating spec sheets, managing samples, and crafting visuals and product decks that capture the magic of our collections. With your creative flair and methodical approach, you play a key role in supporting the design process from initial concept through to market launch. The role is Monday - Friday 9am‑5pm. You’ll enjoy the exciting buzz of our friendly office in Banbury, Oxfordshire three to five days a week dependant on business needs.
HOW YOU'LL CONTRIBUTE
- Create detailed and accurate spec sheets for product and packaging using Adobe programs
- Support Designers with visuals and physical design mock‑ups
- Assist with personalisation projects, including testing creative concepts, building fact sheets and preparing print files
- Support planning activities such as range plan building and adding codes/prices ahead of sign‑off meetings
- Prepare samples and product development spaces for key meetings
- Support the sample process, checking quality and ensuring alignment with design specs
- Visual‑merchandise new sample collections for internal meetings
- Take accurate meeting notes and ensure team actions are captured
- Maintain organised filing systems and design documentation
- Input design information into the critical path, including naming, technical specs and images
- Research and comp shop areas of the market as requested
- Assist with creation of product fact sheets and decks for wider teams
- Any other ad‑hoc duties as reasonably requested
THE TALENT YOU'LL BRING
- Design qualification is highly desirable
- Passion and enthusiasm for fashion, jewellery and accessories
- Good visual communication skills with basic Adobe (Ps or Ai) capabilities
- Excellent organisation skills and attention to detail
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Exceptional accuracy in written communication and numeracy
- Experience working in a fast‑paced environment with integrity and confidentiality
- A proactive team player, able to work autonomously when needed
- A positive, can‑do attitude and excellent collaborative skills
