Are you a Wholesale Account Manager, Territory Manager, Account Manager or Business Development professional within the pet industry looking for something genuinely different? We’re partnered exclusively with a fast-growing premium pet wholesale business with a standout portfolio across pet accessories, enrichment, lifestyle and design-led products. These brands are modern, distinctive, and leagues ahead of much of what exists in the UK pet market. These are not "me too" products. They are premium, design-led, high-quality brands that independent pet retailers actively want to stock.

This is a Wholesale Account Manager role within the pet industry, focused on growing independent retail partnerships across the UK. There is already a base of 100+ independent pet retail accounts, many of which are underutilised or dormant - representing a significant commercial opportunity. Alongside this, the business has recently secured major retail partnerships, with more in progress. As Wholesale Account Manager, you will take ownership of this channel, with a clear focus on increasing reorder frequency. This is a commercial, growth-focused role, not passive account management.

As a Wholesale Account Manager in this business, you’ll represent a portfolio of premium pet brands that are genuinely different:

  • Innovative pet products and enrichment solutions
  • Design-led accessories and lifestyle ranges
  • Brands with strong identity, storytelling and retail appeal

This gives you a genuine advantage in the market — but success will still come down to your ability to build relationships, follow up properly, and convert interest into long-term partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow a portfolio of independent pet retailers and wholesale accounts
  • Reactivate dormant customers and convert interest into repeat business
  • Identify and win new independent pet shop and retail partnerships
  • Plan and execute structured field visits across the UK
  • Build strong relationships with buyers, store owners and retail teams
  • Maintain a clear sales pipeline and consistent follow-up strategy
  • Represent the brands with energy, credibility and commercial confidence
  • Provide feedback from the field to support ongoing business growth

What we’re looking for

This role is ideal for someone currently working as a: Wholesale Account Manager, Territory Manager, Account Manager, Business Development Manager, or Field Sales Executive (Pet Industry or Consumer Goods). You’ll bring:

  • 2-5 years' experience in pet industry sales, wholesale, or independent retail account management
  • A proven track record of growing accounts and driving revenue
  • Strong understanding of independent pet retailers, garden centres or specialist retail channels
  • Excellent organisation and pipeline management skills
  • High levels of resilience and consistent follow-up
  • The ability to sell a brand story, not just a product

Bonus (not essential)

  • Existing relationships within the UK pet trade / independent retail network
  • Experience in pet accessories, pet food, or premium consumer brands
  • Exposure to European or Benelux wholesale markets

What success looks like

Within the first 3-6 months, the successful Wholesale Account Manager will:

  • Reactivate a significant number of existing wholesale accounts
  • Increase reorder frequency across independent retailers
  • Open new, high-quality stockists
  • Build a strong and active sales pipeline
  • Generate consistent wholesale revenue growth

Working Pattern

First 6-8 weeks: 3 days per week in the Oxfordshire HQ (onboarding and product training). Ongoing: typically 2 days in-office + 2-3 days in the field. Field activity should be planned, structured and commercially focused. Performance-based bonus linked to revenue growth and account development. Mileage support for business travel. Hybrid working with flexibility after onboarding.
