My client, a progressive and highly regarded law firm based in Birmingham, is seeking an experienced Legal Support Manager to join their Real Estate Team in Nottingham. This is a fantastic opportunity to take on a leadership role within a well-established firm, overseeing a team of up to 20 secretarial and administrative staff.

The Role:

As Legal Support Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the seamless delivery of high-quality support services within the department. Acting as the key point of contact, you will manage the team’s performance, wellbeing, and professional development, ensuring operational efficiency and first-class client service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee a team of 20+ legal secretaries and administrators, ensuring high performance and service excellence.
  • Conduct regular progress meetings, annual appraisals, and probation reviews in line with competency frameworks.
  • Manage headcount, recruitment, and selection to align with business needs.
  • Ensure smooth onboarding and induction of new starters, transfers, and returning employees.
  • Provide pastoral care and wellbeing support, fostering a positive team culture.
  • Work closely with senior management, developing strong relationships with stakeholders to meet KPIs.
  • Lead departmental projects, drive positive change, and implement process improvements.
  • Ensure full compliance with firm-wide policies and champion department initiatives.
  • Arrange and chair legal support team meetings, reporting on performance and operational effectiveness.
